Wright was inactive for the entire 2008 season as a member of Miami and was waived by the Dolphins prior to the start of last season.

A seventh-round pick in the 2006 draft, he spent his rookie season on the reserve/non-football injury list due to a shoulder injury he suffered while playing football at the University of Texas.

The only action he has seen was in 2007 when he appeared in 13 games and started nine. He had 37 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks.

Marlins could start season without No. 2 starter Johnson

Josh Johnson won't be ready when the season starts April 2.

Grapefruit League action starts Wednesday, but Johnson, penciled in as the No. 2 starter, hasn't even thrown off a mound at full speed since September. He's experienced some soreness in his right forearm.

With Johnson's status doubtful, Gonzalez said right-hander Ricky Nolasco will stay in the rotation and no longer will be considered a candidate for closer.
